About Me

I care fiercely about the people I serve and bring my whole heart into therapy. I am a kind, grounding presence, and I take a creative, experiential approach to the work. I love both the art and science of therapy.

I believe I’m doing my job when I help my clients slow down, get curious, move towards what is deeply important to them, and learn skills to handle difficulties and discomfort.

I love supporting clients with diabetes and other chronic illnesses and health conditions, as well as folks dealing with anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, and food/eating concerns. I believe physical health and mental health are inseparable, and I have a lot of professional experience supporting people on both of these fronts.

I am a person with diabetes, a juggler, a lover of nature, a diabetes writer/author, and always have more to learn.

Therapy Approach

    ACT

    Acceptance & Commitment Therapy:
Connect with your values and take action. Learn skills for coping flexibly with difficult thoughts, feelings, and situations. Slow down, be present, and get curious. Practice in therapy, take it into your life.

    Nature Therapy

Appreciate nature and calm the nervous system. Get out of your thinking mind and into your sensory experience: sight, sound, sensation, smell, taste. More being, less doing. Bathe in the present moment. Connect with something larger.

  • Assorted figurines placed in a blue box with white sand

    Sandtray

Creatively express yourself using sand & physical images. Pause, linger, be present with what arises. Gain new perspectives and make unexpected connections. Permission to play and explore, without an agenda. Work with the nervous system & both sides of the brain.
