About Me

I am a person with type 1 diabetes, a writer/author, a lover of nature and dogs, a juggler, and I always have more to learn. I believe physical health and mental health are inseparable, and I have a lot of professional experience supporting people on both fronts.

I take a creative, experiential approach to therapy. I want you to take away much more than words and insight. I believe I’m doing my job when I help my clients Slow Down, get curious, move towards what is deeply important to them, and learn skills to handle difficulties and discomfort.

I treat each person as a unique sunset - not a math problem. I support people with a range of difficult experiences: diabetes and other health conditions; anxiety, stress, worry/overthinking; ADHD; trauma; grief; perfectionism & productivity obsession; and more.

I work with adolescents, adults, families, and couples. You can book a free consultation to determine if I’m a good fit for your needs.

Therapy Approach

  • A redwood grove clearing with tall trees and a log as a seat

    Nature & Walking Therapy

Appreciate nature & calm the nervous system. Get out of your thinking mind and into your sensory experience. More being, less doing. Walk-and-Talk. Bathe in the forest atmosphere or do therapy on the beach.

  • Assorted figurines placed in a blue box with white sand

    Sandtray

Creatively express yourself using sand & physical images. Pause, linger, be present with what arises. Gain new perspectives and make unexpected connections. Work with the nervous system & both sides of the brain.

    ACT

    Acceptance & Commitment Therapy:
Connect with your values and take action. Learn skills for coping flexibly with difficult thoughts, feelings, and situations. Slow down, be present, and get curious.
